A touch of Arabia. Since we practically live in the desert, it’s been a dream of mine to show our clients how creative they can actually be at a session, and how much thought can go into an engagement session. We feel that going out to the desert is one of the best choices for an engagement session. The desert is just such a beautiful place and always has this magical light, well almost always… It just so happens that it rained, was incredibly windy mixed with very bright sunshine on this particular day. But… we managed to pull through and create some great images.
So for our couple who volunteered for our “Touch of Arabia” desert engagement shoot, we chose to incorporate as much of Arabia we could, while still keeping it subtle. Our couple live and work in the UAE but are getting married abroad, like so many other couples. I find that when understanding the couple that’s modeling in a shoot and tailoring some items to their reality, the couple will have a stronger connection to the project and are also more excited about how everything works out. Not to mention they get ideas for their own wedding!
We chose to collaborate with Al Sahra Desert Resort and Equestrian centre as it’s such a beautiful and traditional property with a myriad of camels. If you’d like to get out of town for a bit, I would definitely recommend going here to explore if you haven’t already been!
We collaborated with some talented vendors that are great to use if you’re having an engagement session or planning your wedding in the UAE. Our pouffs and Moroccan table were rentals from Party Social. We combined it with tabletop rentals and other props from Lace in the Desert. The Party made us two beautiful laser-cut signs with the couple’s name on them! Issa from Antheia Flowers created the most gorgeous bouquet. We just love wild and big flower bouquets. Our camel stationary and wooden sign were designed by Tales & Art. It fit our theme just right.
I hope you’ll be inspired to do something different for your engagement photography session. Whether you’re having your session in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, there’s plenty of reasons to be creative! And why not get some camels involved in your engagement session:)
