A Ritz Carlton Dubai Wedding. Hope everyone’s enjoying their summer! It’s currently editing mania and album production time over at Maria Sundin Photography. I wanted to share one of our weddings from this spring with you. Marlena and Nej came out to Dubai all the way from London where they own a flower shop together. They’ve travelled to Dubai many times before and have grown quite fond of the country so they decided to celebrate their wedding and to get married in Dubai. A proper destination wedding.
This couple is definitely a stylish one, I mean just look at the beautiful shoes and the dress that Marlena wore and not to mention Nej who rocked up in something blue… This day was filled with flowers, tears, bubbly, beautiful music, some oriental dancing and so much warmth of family and friends. Somehow very intimate but still grand in it’s own way. It’s difficult to explain in words, I’ve always preferred letting the photos do the talking, so please have a look and see for yourself:)

A beach wedding at Saadiyat Beach Club, Abu Dhabi with a boho vibe! We loved being part of Liz & Gab’s wedding at Saadiyat Island – it was colourful, completely different than anything we’ve photographed before, very personal with such an intimate and relaxed feel!
With Italian lingo flying around during the day, lots of happy family members, colourful flowers everywhere and a sunny beach day, these avid climbers with a life in Muscat pulled off an intimate sand ceremony where they involved the whole wedding party in welcoming them into marriage by pouring sand into their arabesque glass jar.
For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul.

Maria & Craig Wedding, Smådalarö Gård, Stockholm, Sweden
Summertime in the UAE is usually the best time for summer weddings in Europe. This summer we had the chance to photograph this beautiful Swedish summer wedding at Smådalarö Gård a little bit outside of Stockholm. The ceremony took place at Dalarö church and the reception at Smådalarö gård built in the 1800’s, which are both located in Stockholm’s south archipelago. With guests from both South Africa and Sweden, this summer wedding was small and cosy but with a nice international vibe to it. We just loved everything about this wedding! Maria & Craig had taken their time to really think about the feel they wanted for their wedding, from the dogs bow-ties to the rose petals and bubbles after the ceremony, it was all well thought through. Maria made home-sewn flags for their reception, got some beautiful flowery robes for her bridesmaids and wore her engagement necklace with a beautiful tanzanite stone. She had her dress custom made in South Africa and she wore gorgeous heels from Nine West. The groom and groomsmen all wore suits from Ted Baker.
The couple’s dogs, Missy and Molly, mean the world to them and they managed to incorporate them into their wedding day by making them some cute bow-ties and including them in part of their couple photographs!
We love destination weddings such as Maria & Craig’s wedding in Sweden, and we do work with brides and grooms all over the world, but we don’t take on too many a year. Sweden is one of our regular places that we visit and therefore we do give preference to weddings in Sweden and in the rest of Europe.
