Summertime in the UAE is usually the best time for summer weddings in Europe. This summer we had the chance to photograph this beautiful Swedish summer wedding at Smådalarö Gård a little bit outside of Stockholm. The ceremony took place at Dalarö church and the reception at Smådalarö gård built in the 1800’s, which are both located in Stockholm’s south archipelago. With guests from both South Africa and Sweden, this summer wedding was small and cosy but with a nice international vibe to it. We just loved everything about this wedding! Maria & Craig had taken their time to really think about the feel they wanted for their wedding, from the dogs bow-ties to the rose petals and bubbles after the ceremony, it was all well thought through. Maria made home-sewn flags for their reception, got some beautiful flowery robes for her bridesmaids and wore her engagement necklace with a beautiful tanzanite stone. She had her dress custom made in South Africa and she wore gorgeous heels from Nine West. The groom and groomsmen all wore suits from Ted Baker.
The couple’s dogs, Missy and Molly, mean the world to them and they managed to incorporate them into their wedding day by making them some cute bow-ties and including them in part of their couple photographs!
We love destination weddings such as Maria & Craig’s wedding in Sweden, and we do work with brides and grooms all over the world, but we don’t take on too many a year. Sweden is one of our regular places that we visit and therefore we do give preference to weddings in Sweden and in the rest of Europe.
